Author’s Background

About Author

This is James Armstrong’s first book, he is a working Director and stunt Coordinator, recently helming an episode of the top network TV show, Fear the Walking Dead, for AMC. An established second-generation stunt man himself, James grew up apprenticing as a production assistant, and assistant director on movie sets with his father, Andy, and uncle, Vic Armstrong, (both well-established in the film industry, leading countless action sequences as Stunt Coordinators and 2nd unit directors). This work alone, took James all over the world on huge productions, each building a wealth of experience along the way, lessons he still draws upon to this day. Eventually, James turned to the family trade of stunts himself and began performing for multiple stunt coordinators on various films and TV shows, even getting nominated for a Taurus World Stunt Award, for best work with a vehicle on The Green Hornet. James later doubled Wentworth Miller for four seasons on the hit TV show Prison Break, for Fox, winning a SAG ensemble award. James is married with children and loves to draw with the kids, especially on their lunch bags. The love of drawing & and reading books with the kids led him to the idea of writing, and illustrating his book that could help kids deal with trying moments in life, providing tools to help them overcome and succeed. Lessons, he learned himself when performing stunts. Stuntman Stan was born.
